Instant Messaging behemoth WhatsApp was expected to have a Video Calling feature since a year now. Finally, WhatsApp has introduced video call in its latest Beta version(2.16.355). Follow this article, to get your hands on latest Beta version and activate WhatsApp video call feature so that you can start making WhatsApp video calls.It took longer than what we expected initially for WhatsApp to roll out video calling. After WhatsApp voice calls this is going to be a great addition to the messaging app. However, video calling is still not available in the official WhatsApp version. But you can make use of Beta version rolled out for testers to place video calls on WhatsApp.

Currently, this is only possible for Android users and that too on Beta version. To activate Whats App video calls follow the steps mentioned below.
- Visit Whats App for Android from any browser on your Android smartphone.
- Tap on the beta link and on the next screen select Become a Tester.
- Next, tap on the link at the bottom which says “Download the WhatsApp Messenger app on Google Play“.
- The latest Beta version of Whats App will start downloading. Install it as you install other apps.
- After the installation completes, open Whats App. Open the conversation of the desired contact whom you wish to make a video call.
- Tap on the Call button at the top, next to the Contact name.
- Now, instead of placing the default voice/audio call, WhatsApp will give 2 options. Select Video call.
Please note that WhatsApp video call will only go through if the other person also has the beta version with Video calling feature otherwise you will get the below screen.
